Idaho Supercross 2012 is scheduled to be at the Century Link Arena 3, 4, 5 August, 2012.
2011 Recap: Hello Everyone! We made it through the First Annual "Idaho Supercross" Events at Meridian Speedway. This was not only the first annual but the first ever PRO Supercross Race held in the State of Idaho.
We had three weeks of events which included a Three Race Amateur Series, Three open to the public Practice Nights, an Instructional Riders Clinic, Free Style Motocross with the Metal Mulisha Freestyle Team, Vintage Supercross Racing, Thunderdog Car Racing and The Grand Finale, two nights of "PRO Supercross Racing"! It was, without a doubt, a success!
Over Three Hundred Riders and Drivers from around the state participated in the events. Amateur Riders included all levels from age 4 all the way up to the over 40 years of age Veteran Class. The oldest participant was Al Banta, 67 Years Old, from Lewiston Idaho.
PRO Racing brought participants from as far as Canada, Ohio, Michigan, California, Oregon, Utah, Washington and California. Twenty seven PRO Supercross Riders, many of which are AMA Supercross Top Ten Contenders, competed for the $15K PRO Purse and had the crowd on the edge of their seats as they displayed their amazing skills while maneuvering around the professionally constructed Supercross track.
Over five thousand spectators enjoyed the three weeks of events. Idaho Supercross offered a little bit of action for all Supercross/Motocross, Motorcycle Enthusiasts and even Car Racing fans to enjoy and at a facility where it could be easily seen and it was easily accessible.
We met our goal of providing a "Family Friendly," Healthy and a Community Supporting Event! The Title Sponsor for Idaho Supercross was "Project Filter," the State of Idaho Tobacco Prevention Program. We donated over $ 1,500 in Tickets to the Boys and Girls Club of Meridian so that they could come and enjoy the events. We worked hand in hand with "Think Pink, Inc.," Susan G. Komen for the Cure Affiliate, the Eagle Fire Department in support of "The Burn Out Fund," the Idaho Department of Recreation, the Meridian Police Department, The Boise Orthopedic Clinic, the American Motorcycling Association, the Owyhee Motorcycle Club, The Boise Ridge Riders Motorcycle Club, the Eastern Idaho Motorcycle Association and the Southern Idaho Desert Association.
Media Coverage and advertising included two television commercials, advertisement on two local radio stations, personal on air radio interviews, two on site live radio broadcasts, autograph signings with AMA Supercross professionals Trey Canard, Andrew Short, Nick Wey and Brock Sellards, news coverage on local Channel 12, articles in Racer X Magazine, Transworld Motocross, the Idaho Statesman, Idaho Racing News and Valley Times.
